Short, because there's little to confess
How Hunters Auctions handles your information, in plain English. Last updated 28 August 2026.
Your email, display name, optional suburb, postcode and phone number, your listings (freebies included), bids, watches and searches, and order records - a freebie claim is an order record like any sale. Unfinished listings are saved as drafts, photos included, so you can pick them up later or on another device; drafts are visible only to you, and abandoned ones are deleted after 60 days (photos never attached to a draft or listing are cleared within about two days). For security, we keep a sign-in history: the device type and an approximate location derived from your connection - you can see your own history, and it powers the fraud checks that protect everyone. We also count page views with an anonymous first-party visitor ID so we know which parts of the site matter; that ID is random, and the address it came from is used once to estimate a city and never stored. Card details go directly to our payment processor - we never see or store them.
Bidders appear publicly as a first name and last initial (e.g. "Sarah M."). Your profile shows your suburb OR just your general area ("Newcastle area") - your choice, offered at signup, changeable any time, and available per listing too. Profiles also show trading history: items sold and bought, reviews, and auction finishing positions (gold, silver, bronze), which can appear on the public Podium page. Your email and contact details are never shown. Pickup addresses are shared only between the buyer and seller of a completed order.
The item registry and wallet behind Hunters - the record that moves with an item from seller to buyer - is technology provided by GAD Systems (gad.systems), and registry data (item details, photos, condition reports, ownership transfers, and the account identity needed to link them) is stored and processed on GAD Systems infrastructure. If you transfer an item to a GAD wallet outside Hunters, that transfer and the item's record go with it. GAD Systems is held to the same standard as this page: no selling data, no advertisers.
Plus and Business members can let their own AI (Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, …) draft listings and wallet items through an access token. That's entirely opt-in and entirely under your control: we store only a scrambled hash of the token, you can revoke it any time, and everything the AI does is recorded as activity on your account, with its drafts marked as AI-created. Be aware of the direction of travel: we never send your data to any AI company - it's your assistant that reads from your account (your drafts, wallet items, comparable prices) when you ask it to, and what your AI provider then does with that information is governed by their privacy terms, not this page.
Our servers and database are in Sydney, Australia. Five services we rely on process some data overseas: Stripe (US) handles card payments - card numbers go to Stripe directly and never touch our servers; Resend (US) delivers our emails, so it processes the address an email is sent to; Cloudflare (US) runs the are-you-human check on sign-in, which sees connection details but not your account; Google (US) provides the visit analytics described under Cookies; and Meta (US) provides the advertising measurement described under Cookies. That's the complete list - if it grows, this page changes first.
We don't sell your data, and we don't send marketing you didn't ask for - emails from us are about your auctions, bids, and orders. We never hand advertisers your account details, listings, messages or bids. The one advertising-related tool we use is the Meta Pixel described under Cookies, which tells Meta that a browser visited Hunters pages so we can measure our own ads; it does not receive your Hunters account data.
Ours: one cookie keeps you signed in; one is the anonymous visitor ID described above, which powers our own traffic statistics. Third-party: we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure whether our own advertising works - both set their providers' cookies and receive the pages a browser visits, never your account details, bids or messages. You can block third-party cookies in your browser and every part of Hunters still works.
You can deactivate your account at any time from your profile settings: you're signed out everywhere, we stop emailing you, and your information is kept so that signing back in restores everything - your items, order history and reviews. You can also ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and its personal information outright, at any time. Order records we're legally required to keep are retained in de-identified form. Registry records for items you've sold stay with the item - that history is the buyer's provenance, with your identity reduced to what the record needs.
