HUNTERS

Freebies

How do freebies work on Hunters Auctions?

Freebies are items Hunters members give away for nothing. There's no bidding: the first signed-in member to claim one gets it. You arrange pickup in the private order chat, the claimer confirms collection, the item moves into their Hunters wallet with its history intact, and both sides review each other — exactly like a sale, minus the money.

Giving something away

Put it up from the Freebies page (or straight from an item in your wallet with one tap). Same honesty rules as selling: a written condition report, real photos, and the prohibited items list still applies — free doesn't launder anything. You can have up to 10 freebies up at once, and they never count against your auction listing slots.

Claiming one

First in, best dressed. Claiming opens an order between you and the giver — the same private chat used after an auction — where you agree on a pickup time. Claiming is a commitment: if you ghost, the giver can report a no-show after 72 hours and it goes on your record. Change of plans? Give up the claim from the order page before pickup and the item goes straight back up, no mark against you.

Pickup and after

There's nothing to pay at the door. When you tap “I've picked it up”, the order completes, the item lands in your wallet with its provenance attached, and both of you are invited to review each other — the same reviews that build your reputation for buying and selling.

What freebies never touch

Freebie handovers are $0 by definition, so they never appear in prices realised, the price guide, or podium standings. They're about keeping good things out of landfill and putting a first item in your wallet — not about the numbers.
