The Hunters game
An opt-in guessing game: switch it on in your account and every lot gets a purple Guess chip. Call the hammer price once per lot - under the hammer scores nothing; at or above, the closer you are the more you score, multiplied by how many days out you called it, a little extra for dearer items, your daily streak and x2 on boosted lots. Points and a monthly leaderboard only - no prizes, nothing to buy, and a guess is never a bid.
Account → Profile → The Hunters game. From then on every lot card carries a purple Guess chip and the lot page a purple panel. Purple means game: nothing purple is ever a bid, and a guess can never win you the item. Bid normally as well if you actually want it.
Tap the chip, type a whole-dollar amount, lock it. That's your call for that lot - no edits, no second go. Guesses stay hidden from everyone until the lot closes, then the lot page shows the reveal: what it sold for, how many guessed, the closest call, and how you did.
Under the hammer price scores 0 - The Price Is Right rule. At or above, closeness is 100 × sale ÷ guess (exact = 100, 10% over ≈ 91, 50% over ≈ 67). That gets multiplied by how many days out you guessed (up to 14 - a day-one call on a 10-day lot is worth 10×, a last-minute one next to nothing), a mild factor for dearer items (up to 3×), your streak(+5% per consecutive day played, up to +50%), and ×2 on boosted lots. Lots that don't sell are void for everyone.
A day counts if you place at least one guess (Sydney time). Miss a day and the streak resets. The leaderboard at /game is players-only and resets on the 1st of each month - so a newcomer can win it.
There is no entry fee, no prize and nothing points can buy. It's bragging rights. House accounts and staff don't play, and you can't guess on your own lots.
